They can ask for a ticket, it's better to have one. Not cheaper, it's easier to get a bus + catamaran from Lompraya (about 1500 baht). You can, but without rights, in which case you will dig a hole yourself, breaking the law. It is better to go for a tour with a visa to neighboring countries and get 60 + 30 (visa for 3 months)
