Bus tickets can be bought to the city of Nanghaiyu, it is on the border with Laos. We bought it at the train station next to the mosque, but there seems to be a bus coming from there.

Train from VKK. Bus from the Sukhumvit Central gas station. Only to Nong Khai, you will have to pass the border yourself.
