[Samui] We have never been to Koh Samui. We want to come from Phuket for a couple of days. There is no understanding about the beaches at all. Please advise the ideal beach - clean sea, good entrance, white sand. Infrastructure is not important. The fewer people, the better. - Thailand

Everyone has their own perfect beach. We were highly advised to Crystal Bay (in the end, we took another beach, and just stopped by to see CB). We did not regret at all that we chose NOT CB (the sea is shallow, most of the bay is with stones in the water, you have to go far from the shore for swimming), closer to the colorful huge boulders, the entrance to the water with an unpleasant, sometimes muddy bottom, the sand on the beach is ordinary (on Chaweng it is whiter, 'velvety'). But there are some fish animals in the water.

Lamai is a beach for the poor who don't have money for the center. Koh Samui as a resort began with Chaweng and Chaweng Noah, respectively, and you have to go there.
