We drove on the driver from Don Muang Airport to Pattaya The driver asked to pay an additional 185 baht for the autobahn. Is this a normal practice or a scam for tourists?

Maybe. But I read it especially now, it is written in the indrive rules that payment for toll roads is not included in the tariff.
