Has anyone been fined for driving a bike without a helmet in Phuket? What experience do you have? When/if they came to pay, did they ask for rights?

For a passenger without a helmet (there were rights), I once wrote 1500 baht in the protocol. I paid 500, but they write that the fine is even less.

It's much more expensive to get the treatment done later, if something happens.
