How can you spend the most inexpensive 12 hours of waiting at night at Bangkok airport? I choose between going by bus for 15 hours and coming directly to check-in for the flight, or flying only an hour from Samui airport, but waiting another 12 hours

I fly on May 22, a similar pause (12 hours) before the flight to Koh Samui. Did the following: booked an inexpensive hotel up to 500 baht + 300 baht round trip taxi. As a result, calmly rest the night in a hotel room, and in the morning fly to the island. I have experience of traveling to Koh Samui 8 times, I went by different routes. Now I come to the conclusion, an hour-long flight for me is preferable to moving to Don Muang, flight, bus, ferry. The savings are relatively small, respective to the time and other factors. Or maybe it's age. Amenities are more important.

Consider the intermediate option: Samui - Surat Thani - plane to Bkk. Less travel time than by bus and less waiting time than a direct flight, and the cost is cheaper than a direct flight to Bkk.

take a walk, go to some places. And if you go by bus, you're exhausted.

There may be capsule hotels inside, but they are not cheap usually. From the good: at the airport of Bangkok you can eat inexpensively but I had enough 9 hours of waiting, this time I decided to sleep in a hotel nearby before the flight.

By bus from Koh Samui you will be at 6 a.m. already in Bkk.
