Old-style banknotes were changed without problems - I will not say about the exact year, but according to the inscriptions on the banknotes - they got once - but this is a purely human factor - in other exchangers they calmly changed without questions.

They accept it, but not everywhere. If you haven't accepted somewhere just go to another exchanger.
