It's better to go by yourself. Min 3 days there rest, otherwise you will get tired and will not understand anything.

We went there ourselves, by ferry (with transfer from the department), back by speedboat, ferry tickets and speedboat were taken on the 12th. On the spot we already took a day tour of the islands.

Depending on what you want, if you just look at the most semi-polar bays/islands then 1 day is enough. If you want to hang out, it's overnight. If you want to be unlimited in time, then sail to Krabi.
