what can I use to leave the airport to the hotel, and do I need cash for this or can I use a card?

If the hotel is near the BTS or MRT station then you can take the train from the airport ARL. Phaya Thai BTS or Phetchaburi MRT stations are interchangeable. You can check on the metro map how far from them to the station where the hotel is. If there is no desire to understand at all, then a taxi is better. Yes you need cash.
