what is the best way to look for a house in person on Koh Samui? How does this happen? Do you walk up to the house and knock? Does the house say how many rooms, is there a kitchen?

In my experience, there is almost no way on samui legs (on a moped, a car). It's not Phangan with three and a half roads all over the island.

You ride a bike, you see a sign/inscription house for rent. Stop and dial the phone number from the sign. Communicate with the ower, rent a house. Profit.
