The most important thing is that there are 2 exits on the arrivals floor from the baggage/customs area. So it's better to have 2 people standing at both of them, or tell grandpa to walk through the central one.

In the arrivals area... But Grandpa will have to follow the signs in English to go through immigration and so on. Or ask the friendly airport staff.
