And on The Pangana there are any good beaches that are globally different from Koh Samui? Does it even make sense to go there purely to the beach?

The beaches there are the coolest there, but they are on the other side of the island from the ferry. If you go for one day, you just get all day on the road, because the ferry from Koh Samui sails for 30-40 minutes, then from the ferry on the island to the beaches to go also 30-40 minutes. And the latter return ferry leaves Bagan somewhere around 16: 00. IMHO, if you're with kids, you'll just get exhausted on the road and don't get high. Therefore, it is better to go to Koh Phangan from Koh Samui with at least one overnight stay there, so that you can relax unhurriedly.

In the north of Koh Phangan, the coolest beaches, Koh Samui and nearby is not worth it. Haad Khom and Thong Nai Pan are picturesque, with turquoise water and white sand. Sometimes there are large and not sharp stones at the bottom, but they are easy to see. In general, it is definitely worth going including from behind the beach.
