Student nonimmigrant visa ED is issued for a period of 6 months to 1 year. You can get it in any country where there is a consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand, including in Russia (Moscow / Vladivostok), but you will have to pick up the documents from the school in advance (send DHL). Starting in 2017, schools accredited by the Ministry of Education of Thailand can apply for an ED visa without leaving the country. Scheme of obtaining an ED-visa: 1. Find a suitable school and choose a course. The school must have accreditation – a form with a stamp stamp and an identification number. Tip: take First English, then Thai. If you immediately choose Thai, then later, when you want to get a visa through an English course, problems may arise. 2. Three weeks before the end of the current visa or arrival in Thailand, you need to notify the school that you need documents for the visa. Here, schools usually ask to pay 50% of the cost of education. The school will need your a passport and possibly a rental contract. 3. We collect a package of documents for the visa: – passport (validity of the > 6 months); – a photocopy of the main page of the passport, certified by its owner (date, painting); – completed visa application form; – 4 3x4 photos for the application form, plus up to 20 photos if you apply for an annual visa; – consular fee 2000฿, in Russia they accept in rubles, in Laos only in baht; – documents from the school: – a) Letter address to Thai consulate of __ (original). — b) Original approval letter from the department of education. — c) School registration and principal endorsement. — d) Course schedules. — e) Full course syllabus. — f) Proof on enrollment. — j) Proof of bank statement updated either from home country or Thailand bank acct. – h) Student Certificate (required if you receive a 2nd or 3rd ED visa). 4. We are planning a trip for a visa. You can buy your own tickets and pay for accommodation or go on a minibus in #visarun. The most popular destination is Penang (Malaysia), but there have tightened the requirements, so you can go for a visa to Vientiane (Laos) or Bali (Indonesia). Keep in mind that it will take 2 working days: 1 day - submission of documents from 08.00 to 11.00; Day 2 – passport collection from 13.00 to 16.00.5. We go to Visaran and get a visa. On the way back, when crossing the border with Thailand, the officer will put a stamp in the passport for 90 days. Be sure to double-check the dates! The officer has the right to demand to show the lease agreement, as well as 20,000฿. You will need to fill in the Departure card, where you will indicate your address in Thailand. Make sure that the Departure card is fixed in the passport and not lost, this is important. 6. The next day, the field of vizaran you need to come to the school with a passport for reporting. 7. According to Thai law, foreigners need to check in every 90 days - you will need to come to the Immigration Office to extend the stamp and pay 5000฿ every time. Documents for extension (in addition to those prepared by the school): – lease agreement; – a certified copy of the ID-card of the homeowner; – a copy of the certificate of ownership certified by the owner; – a map of the location of the house, drawn by hand; – three photos of the house: a general plan, a sign with the house number, a student on the background of the house and a sign. 8. After completing the language course, you need to come to the Department of Education to take the exam. Don't worry, if you're a double, they will help you and they won't scold you.
