To go to Vietnam for an extension without any problems, don't you need a view?

In Vietnam you will be given a visa-free stamp for 15 days. When crossing the border, they may ask for a return ticket from Vietnam and a hotel reservation. I flew to Ho Chi Minh City in October for a border run and saw that some people were asked for a return ticket and accommodation reservation.
