Did anyone get to Koh Samui from Bangkok? Is it worth bothering? Or is it easier from Phuket?

What from Phuket, what from Bangkok, in 12 hours by bus and ferry is the most economical, and the fastest is the plane.

I flew from Bangkok by plane to Koh Samui and didn't bother.
