We took a whole one a couple of times, the sellers cut it up with us, but both times it was disgusting. By the smell, but the taste and texture is not very. Sometimes creamy texture, sometimes like boiled potatoes... But the taste itself is both there and there about nothing. Maybe both times we came across some unripe ones... I like mango and mangosteen, so they are rarely unsuccessful.

Durians are a seasonal fruit. And out of season there are almost none or very expensive.

Yes, it's for an amateur. They say it's better to take fresh. Either whole, but small (just in case) or with you to open.
