We booked 6 hotels without any additional criteria. Only 1 refused. Everyone else said: of course, we are waiting!

Yes, put a filter on free cancellation and choose, the number of hotels in which this is possible is certainly less, but there is a choice.

There is such an opportunity on booking, I easily booked three hotels for myself and a couple more for my parents.

There is a booking with payment upon check-in, but the price for this service is more expensive. And the choice of hotels is not great.
