I'm probably going to ask a stupid question now. If I arrive at the hotel at 11 p.m. will they wait for me at the reception? There's always no one there in the evening, even if it's a fire. Or should I stay in Bangkok? The plane arrives at 9 p.m.

It depends on the hotel. How the front desk works, most often around the clock. But maybe they don't work at night. You have to check on the hotel website.
