No, not necessarily! We went 2 times, once by car and the second time on bikes. They didn't ask anything. But I do not recommend riding bikes, at the entrance you will have to put it in the parking lot and go all the way to the beach by motorcycle taxi, which was not there at our moment. We were lucky, we got hooked to a European with such a car. It is forbidden for tourists to travel around the base on a bike.
