If I fly Aeroflot from Bangkok to Moscow and then to Yekaterinburg, should I get my luggage in Moscow or go straight to border control and to the waiting room? Can I carry fruit in my hand luggage? I don't want to bring a basket.

It depends on what kind of fruit, if mango, it's better in a basket and in a backpack or in a bag.

Basket - not required for the transportation of fruits. The main thing is that the weight and dimensions of hand luggage should pass. And it's easier to put it in a suitcase (if the ticket is with luggage)
