There is nothing particularly complicated, on the website of the consulate to fill out a questionnaire, make an appointment at the consulate in the BPC, submit documents and wait 6-12 weeks. The record there is true also for 2 months in advance, but you can call the phone, explain the situation and make an appointment for the near future. Oh, and it is also worth checking fines, taxes and other possible debts in the Russian Federation through the State Services or by phone, otherwise there will be a refusal.
