Make a visa before April, then immediately order a new passport (since it is quite possible that the passport will be more than two months old), after receiving a new passport, transfer the visa. Do not delay with the visa and take risks. By law, expiring passports are not accepted by the Immigration Service. Might be lucky... But maybe you might not be so lucky.

Theoretically yes, but it will have to be transferred to a new passport later.
