I am considering the option of arriving in Bangkok, and then moving to Phuket in a rented car. Does anyone know how much they will have to pay for toll roads? And what is gasoline now? Driving experience in Tai is available.

2000 km (round-trip) - 160liters - 4800 baht.

From bkk 25, back 50. Gasoline for 32 like. In April, I went with a threesome with a child. I took the car at the port and reached Hua Hin. There 3 days burned and on to Phuket.
