who bought equipment in Thailand (iPhone is interested) payment only in baht in stores? You can't cash in dollars? I want to order an iPhone in Phuket.

The currency of Thailand is the baht, so even if someone takes dollars, then at today's exchange rate it is not a fact that this rate will be the same as if you changed it yourself. Well, Norm stores are unlikely to accept dollars.
