Tell me, what is the difference between Lamai Beach and Chaweng Beach on Koh Samui? Which one is better?

They are similar. Both the sea and the shore are excellent. Chaweng is a direct tourist center, a party, noisy, violent, the most moving. Lamai is calmer, better to stay longer. And the infrastructure, cafes, shops on Lamai are more choices.

Chaweng at this time is better, the sea is calmer, the sand is whiter, there are practically no stones in the water.

Chaweng Beach) but Chaweng is very large, it has two flanks and they are different. And where Centara hotels are, in my opinion, the best on the island, especially for families. Lamai has rough sand, chaweng is soft as flour.
