Maybe there are some free ones? But, for example, pay for food.

On the road from Kata to Nai Harn there is an elephant farm, a 100 baht bowl of bananas, and at least hug, take a picture and feed, I don't know where people get the price tags of 800 baht.

Near the nature Phuket hotel, feed, hug 800 baht per person, after lunch you can look at the kids, give cold water as a gift, you can walk with elephants for an additional fee

On the road between Kata and Rawai, there are several farms near the Karon lookout. You just have to pay 100 baht for bananas.

There are three elephant farms on the way to the big Buddha. In the first, they ride for 1000, and just feed for 900. In the other two, further down the road, it is written about JUST FEED for 100 baht.
