Is it possible to get to Koh Samui by bus + ferry? Is it better from Phuket or Bangkok?

It depends on where you arrive. From Phuket you can take a bus + ferry, from Bangkok it is a whole night to go, it's easier then to fly through Surat Thani, as you were written, some airlines have complex tickets that include a flight + bus + ferry, but if you just fly to Surat Thani (it was more convenient for us to fly Thai Vietjet from BKK right away, and not move to Don Mueang airport), then on the spot at Surattnnani airport, a bus + ferry ticket costs 500 baht. There are also direct flights from Phuket and Bangkok, but it's a bit expensive.

From Bangkok to Surat Thani by plane, from Surat Thani by bus to Donsak and from it by ferry (the ticket was immediately taken to the autobus and ferry at Surat Thani airport)
