The ED study non-immigrant visa is issued for a period of 6 months to 1 year. You can get it in any country where there is a consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand, including Russia (Moscow / Vladivostok), but you will have to pick up documents from the school in advance (send it to DHL). Starting in 2017, schools accredited by the Thai Ministry of Education can apply for an ED visa without leaving the country. Scheme for obtaining an ED-visa: 1. Find a suitable school and choose a course. The school must have accreditation - a form with an official seal and an identification number. Tip: take English first, then Thai. If you choose Thai right away, then when you want to get a visa through an English course, problems may arise. 2. Three weeks before the end of the current visa or arrival in Thailand, you need to notify the school that you need documents for a visa. Here, schools are usually asked to pay 50% of the tuition fee. The school will need your passport and possibly rental contract. 3. We collect a package of documents for a visa: – passport (valid > 6 months); – a photocopy of the main page of the passport, certified by its owner (date, signature); – a completed visa application form; – 4 3x4 photos for the application form, plus up to 20 photos if you are applying for an annual visa; – consular fee 2000 ฿, in Russia they accept in rubles, in Laos only in baht; – documents from the school: – a) Letter address to Thai consulate of __ (original). — b) Original approval letter from the department of education. — c) School registration and principal endorsement. — d) Course schedules. — e) Full course syllabus. — f) Proof on enrollment. — j) Proof of bank statement updated either from home country or Thailand bank acct. – h) Student Certificate (required if you are getting a 2nd or 3rd ED visa). 4. We are planning a trip for a visa. You can buy tickets yourself and pay for accommodation or take a minibus to #визаран. Most a popular destination is Penang (Malaysia), but the requirements have been tightened there, so you can go to Vientiane (Laos) or Bali (Indonesia) for a visa. Keep in mind that it will take 2 working days: 1 day – submission of documents from 08.00 to 11.00; Day 2 – obtaining a passport from 13.00 to 16.00.5. We go to the visaran and get a visa. On the way back, when crossing the border with Thailand, the officer will put a stamp in the passport for 90 days. Be sure to double-check the dates! The officer has the right to demand to show the rental agreement, as well as 20,000 ฿. You will need to fill out a Departure card, where you will indicate your address in Thailand. Make sure that the Departure card is fixed in the passport and is not lost, this is important. 6. The next day, you need to come to school with a passport for reporting. 7. According to Thai law, foreigners need to check in every 90 days - they will need to come to the Immigration Office to renew the stamp and pay each time 5000฿. Documents for renewal (in addition to those prepared by the school): – lease agreement; – a certified copy of the ID card of the owner of the property; – a copy of the certificate of ownership certified by the owner; – a map of the location of the house, drawn by hand; – three photos of the house: a general plan, a sign with the number of the house, a student against the background of the house and signs. 8. After completing the language course, you need to come to the Department of Education to take the exam. Don't worry, if you're a loser, they won't help you and they won't scold you.
