If you already have cash in dollars or you know where you can buy cash for a ruble at a rate close to the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, then it is more profitable to carry dollars. Otherwise, it's easier to make a UnionPay card and withdraw cash from it and pay in most stores.
