For me, the sea is a depth almost from the shore with the ability to swim freely, clear water and a good bottom. Lamai, Chaweng and Maenam meet these criteria, but on Maenam the water can be cloudy. Coral Cove is also good, but it is cut off from civilization, you need your own transport. Everyone praises Chaweng Noi, it is picturesque, but for me it is small and there are many vacationers with children. Chaweng is moving, and I love silence. As a result, from year to year I choose Lamai for life and rent a car. Unbathable - all the west and south coast - knee-deep water, Bophutin beach in the water, silt at the bottom. Look at the map of Koh Samui - where the color of the sea is darker, there is shallow water. Everyone's requests are different, the opinion on the beaches is purely my personal.

We were in August, the weather is good, often sunny, rains are rare, they don't last long, there are no waves. In summer, the choice of beach is very important - many are unbathable due to low tides. This year we are flying to Koh Samui again in August. But it is impossible to predict the weather with accuracy, it may vary from year to year. But in the summer on Koh Samui it is definitely better than in the winter - it has been tested many times.
