A plane from Bangkok costs 1100 baht. And you don't have to drive 14 hours.

The bus takes from the northern bus terminal of Pattaya to the northern bus terminal of Bangkok (mo chit) 131 baht and from mo chit to Phuket 715 to Phuket bus terminal 2. Tickets can be purchased online.

The fastest option is a direct flight from Bangkok. The cheapest is a bus from Bangkok to Phuket. It seems that there is still an option for a bus from Pattaya to Phuket, but I'm not sure.

There are a couple of flights from U-Tapao, but it's a bit expensive.
