Are you talking about Phuket? It is better to have a job from the shore, it is harder to find housing here - it's easy for a nation. Either walk with your feet or through local websites.

Housing look here: if for a short time, then booking and airbnb if for a long time, then ddproperty, renthub. Visitors can't work Russians live perfectly. Belarusians are worse off by the way, but who cares?
