[Pattaya] My husband and I are going to Pattaya for two weeks. We want to take a moped (in all trips before that we took it without problems). But the rights are only for cars (for national ones, category M is still open). Tell me, what is the real situation with checks and fines on the road? - Thailand

Now I'm in Pattaya. Brutal checks started 5-7 days ago. There are 7-8 police officers on each side every evening, they slow down. 500 baht if there is no helmet. 10,000 baht (or more) is required if other violations

They stop quite often, so it can be expensive to drive without a license. I was stopped 4 times for 250 km of running around the city, all friends are also stopped consistently at N times a month. Despite the fact that everything does not skate so much.
