Tell me, when buying a bike from a local on Koh Samui, what documents should I take from him for a bike? What do I need to check?

It's like you can take a greenbook and a copy of the owner's passport. Moreover, the seller may not be the owner, if he decided not to register for himself at all, but simply to resell. So the main thing is that the passport corresponds to the last entry in the greenbook. Like, an open contract is needed. Then you can go to the transport policy with these documents. Well, that's relevant for Koh Samui. Probably in more serious places you should still register for yourself as soon as possible and not buy bikes without documents.

The only document is a greenbook. If you make out officially, then he himself will hand it over to the transport department, there they will make a new owner and return it to you. If you don't, just take the greenbook from him, if you have one, of course.
