Do not go to Koh Chang, there are very unpleasant sand midges. Read about them on the Internet, and immediately change your mind about going. A week ago we came back from there, still itchy. I recommend Samet. And closer, and the sand is white, and there are no midges. If you are with a child and you are not interested in nightlife, then Samet is the most important thing! For accommodation I can recommend resort Tub Tim.
