Do I need to book a seat on the ferry in advance to move with the car or can I buy a ticket right before departure? And how long does the ticket office on the pier in Naton work? And do I need a car number to book a seat on the ferry?

There they change all the time depending on traffic. Sometimes from the mainland there are queues all the way off the highway. I would check what the site offers for reservation or go and look at it on the spot.
