Was in Phuket before moving to Koh Samui. Phuket seemed to be our Gelendzhik, very, very many tourists and clogged beaches. On Koh Samui, the beaches are freer, and there are fewer tourists per square meter. At least that's what it seemed to me. Well, I didn't see a big difference in prices either.

Phuket is a city, Koh Samui is a village. In Phuket, you can live in a condo, Koh Samui is more often at home. Koh Samui is more expensive, smaller, less choice. But at the same time more comfortable. If you had an apartment in a large city and a dacha. The first is Phuket, the second is Koh Samui (Briefly and subjectively)
