It will be cheaper in KL, there is more choice in Bangkok.

There's a Central World shopping center like an airpark in Moscow, you can't get around everything in a day.

I would have chosen Bangkok, but I just didn't like Kuala Lumpur in general. There are big and beautiful shopping malls in Bangkok.

Brands in KL are much cheaper, there are minimal import taxes. No kidding, my friends fly there for Gucci and Coach, even buying one handbag with a ticket price on top comes out cheaper than in the BCC, if the original. But there are conditionally a couple of decent shopping centers there (KLCC and Pavilion), there are a lot of BCC. The city as a whole is more comfortable there in terms of walking and moving around the center.
