in order to go to Krabi from Phuket, you need a motorcycle, can't you ride a scooter?(If that category A rights are available)

It's better by car, it takes about three hours to go. Riding a motorcycle or a moped is still a pleasure..

A scooter and a motorcycle equally require category A. You can go, but not on red numbers and it is advisable to avoid / carefully drive through tunnels.
