[Samui] Perhaps someone will tell you, there are plans to visit Cheo Lan Lake on Koh Samui, for three days: a couple of days on one side of the lake (with a visit to the park) and one night right on the lake. Tell me, where exactly is the entrance to the park? And where is the best place to stay for the first two days? - Thailand

The houses on Cheo Lan Lake are divided into those belonging to the park administration and private ones. Now there are already about 20 floating hotels. You can reserve a bungalow of the national park through the official website of the National parks of Thailand or on the spot, at the office of the national Park.

Between the entrance to the National Park, where the Visitor Center is located, and the 401 highway, the bulk of hotels are located, including on the highway itself towards the lake. And when they talk about Khao Sok hotels and about the national Park in general, they usually mean this place. Not Cheo Lan Lake, but this particular area.

From Khao Sok to Cheo Lan is about an hour away. A few kilometers before the entrance to the dam there is an inspection point where a soldier with a machine gun asks to show documents. There are raft houses and houseboats on Cheo Lan Lake. You can only get to them by boat, the Thais are met at the pier and taken to the room. Therefore, there are two rules: we immediately take with us everything we need from food, clothes, water — there are no shops nearby, houses in the middle of the lake need to arrive at the pier before dark, check—in time is up to 17-00 Are you sure you want to spend three days there?
