Can you drive? Do you know the Thai rules? If yes and yes, then go to the transport department with a certificate from the hospital and a residence certificate. Well, and a passport of course. If you don't know the rules, then either teach yourself, or there is a driving school that is the only legal one on Koh Samui - a little further south than Lamai.
