Bangkok Airlines, 1 hour and you are on Koh Samui. Their price is reasonable. Fast and convenient.

The most convenient way is by plane. The coldest is the train and the most unusual is the bus, it still depends on what kind of train you are traveling and how many things.

Try from Don Muang to Suratkhani by plane, and then by bus + ferry.

It's better by plane (but here you need to catch Bangkok Airways shares), and cheaper by train, or bus straight from Bangkok to the pier on Koh Samui.
