If you are going to do a student visa, then you can make a green or yellow bank with a visa without insurance.

I had vip insurance with protection for 100,000 baht for 5500 baht in the central. It's probably gone up in price.

Yes, no one seems to succeed without insurance, but you can bargain for a smaller amount.
