Phuket is a resort town, Koh Samui is a resort village Koh Samui has less infrastructure (shopping centers, etc.), but there are more decent hotels, better beaches, more measured rest. Russians are less noticeable on Koh Samui, there are a lot of Israelis and Europeans here, and in Phuket, as in Alushta straight.
