if I have a student visa, I'm flying out of the country, I can't count on vat-refund? Has anyone had such an experience? Consultants in stores say that it seems like it should take a ride, but logic suggests that it will not take a ride))

If you are in the country for less than 180 days (a year), then it should be a ride.

Oh why not? You are not a citizen and even with a visa you are a temporary visitor. You do not receive any benefits and preferences from the state of Thailand to pay taxes.
