[Bangkok] Can you tell me if anyone has flown to Thailand in the last few days, is it necessary to have a certain amount of cash with you? I just read that you have to carry about $600. Is this true? - Thailand

By law, 20 t baht, but they check very, very, very rarely (and sometimes even ask to withdraw cash from the card and show) usually when the person is not just a tourist, those have a long history of visas / no visas in the database. The requirement to show funds for accommodation is legitimate.

One guy was recently put in a migration jail for not having money with him, I think he's still in jail because he can't get a direct flight.

I've flown a hundred times and never been asked for anything like this.

Sometimes they ask. We flew in on 20.03, but we only asked where we would stay after the test and go.
