my husband and I wanted to visit Thailand for the first time at the end of August. Everyone scares us with rains, and not with a calm sea... please tell me if this is true? We are considering whether Phuket is suitable for the first visit

Hello! Absolutely not. I've been to Phuket a few times in August, almost all the time it was beautiful sunny weather, a couple of times it rained, but briefly, mostly rain at night. All in all, everything is great, and the prices are lower than in high season. The only point, not every beach will be comfortable, as the waves can be big. But there are beaches in Phuket where the sea is calm even in low season.
