When applying for an ED visa for how long should the rental of housing be? In theory, every 3 months visa extension.. and it is logical to assume that only for the next 3 months there would be a place to live. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

Many people say that it is possible for 3 months, but it is better to learn at school. when I extended my STV visa (which 3+3+3 months), then at least 3 months of contarction were required for the extension.
