What license is needed in Thailand? Thailand, like Russia, is a signatory to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, one of the provisions of which is the recognition of the driving license of countries party to the convention. The Russian license category " A " with subparagraphs (when driving a motorcycle) and " B " (when driving a car) is quite satisfactory to the police. As always there is a Human Factor - some local police do not care about all these conventions, they require International Driver's License, in which case it is worth mentioning the Convention. Also note that if the policeman stubborn - it is useless to argue with them. PS. To rent a bike / car rights in 99.5% of cases are not required. PPS.
