Is it necessary to have cash with you at the border when you arrive in Thailand or is it okay to have it on your card as well?

I arrived yesterday, flew through Krasnoyarsk, they asked me how much and in what currency I withdraw money, they didn't ask about the money on the card. I think this is in order not to raise the limit of exported currency abroad, and so everyone does not care
